Appointments are required in order to reduce patient waiting time.
On occasion, emergency surgery and urgent work-ins to the schedule will cause delays, but we make every effort to minimize your wait. Whenever possible you will be informed of possible delays in advance and offered other options.
Each of our surgeons is in the office seeing patients approximately two days per week. They spend several days each week operating at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick Surgical Center, and in our facility.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance so that the time reserved for you may be offered to another person requesting care.
*** A $50.00 "NO SHOW" FEE MAY BE CHARGED TO YOU IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE 24 HOURS NOTICE TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT.***
In the event of a life-threatening emergency, go immediately to the Emergency Room, and ask them to contact one of our doctors. If the situation is not that severe, but one where you wish contact with your doctor, please phone us and a doctor will be in touch with you either directly or through office personnel with instructions.
One of our surgeons can be reached 24-hours-a-day and on weekends through the office, the answering service (301) 694-3200, or the Emergency Room at Frederick Memorial Hospital (301) 698-3500.
Your surgeon will perform your surgery and be primarily responsible for your care. Occasionally you may see one of the other surgeons in our group for post-operative wound care, suture removal, or for an urgent problem.
When requesting prescriptions and results of tests or surgery, please remember that the best care and advice can be delivered with review of your medical record. Some responses will be made at the surgeons next scheduled office date. Of course, urgent problems will be addressed immediately.
We make every effort to hold down the cost of your medical care and to set reasonable fees for our services. We will be happy to discuss fees before surgery.
We ask that you pay any deductible or co-pay amount upon completion of your visit. Please be prepared to handle these by cash, check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard, VISA, Discover, American Express or MedCash).
Extended medical loans should be obtained from your bank, savings & loan, or credit union. We may be able to offer limited installment payment plans. If you need to set up installment payment arrangements, contact our Business Office at (301) 694-0049.
Consistent with our goal of excellent service, we try to simplify your life. We will file a claim for insurance benefits on your behalf if you have provided complete information (including carriers name, address, phone number, policy & group numbers) and have assigned the benefits to be paid to our practice.
Please remember, however, that the policy you have is a contract between you and your health plan. We have experience with claims filing and appeals, but we cannot guarantee your policy will cover our services because your carrier/health plan will not give us such a guarantee.
We strongly advise you to obtain benefits information directly from your carrier or agent. We do not have a copy of your policy, and can only share our past experiences with insurance claims. Health care and insurance reform efforts seem to be resulting in lower benefits from some carriers in their efforts to cut their costs to remain competitive.
We will assist with any pre-admission, pre-certification, pre-authorization, or second opinion requirements your carrier may require as a condition for payment of benefits. Eligibility, pre-existing conditions, policy limits, non-payment of premiums, other insurance involvement, or other conditions are reasons your plan may deny or reduce benefits.
We cannot be held responsible for the limits of your policy and will expect payment for all services we provide. We gladly furnish a written Estimation of Fees upon request to assist you in obtaining specific information from your health plan.
We have contractual agreements with some health plans which may reduce your costs. Please ask about your specific plan. Please be prepared with any copayments and Referral Forms your health plan may require.
